Oops, forgot about the existence of this blog. Why does that always happen to me?! Oh right, Tumblr and Twitter. Damn this new-fangled interweb technology.
So I'm really sad that I never wrote about Boston like I said I would 8 months ago. It was incredible and now I will never remember exactly why. I think it was kind of one of those things, though, that is inexplicably great. It was just a great feeling overall... kind of like a glowing blanket of awesomeness. What the hell am I talking about? We discussed something like the GBoA in my Social Movements class, in reference to Freedom Summer in '64. None of the volunteers could remember specifically what was so utterly fantastic about the summer, and that was because it was just a fuzzy blanket of friendship and new places and life-changing events. It's kind of like that, I think, on a smaller scale.
Okay so, um, here's a list of things that currently make me happy , since I haven't made one since the beginning of last summer and these things have invariably changed.
- Love. I still feel like I'm glowing. Possibly radioactivity in the Wesley building though.
- Chuck Klosterman. Holding one of his books as we speak. Also, I met him and carried on a legit musical conversation with him. It was fantastic and now I feel authentically musically snobbish.
- Bishop Allen. Favorite band of the year; saw them once, seeing them again in a month.
- New York. I saw a map of NYC yesterday and got incredibly nostalgic; exploring such a huge city with a boy I care so much about was what some would call indescribable.
- The fact that Taylor is visiting soon! I miss him so much and can't wait until he visits in 3 weeks. So much music and self-discovery to be had.
- The conversation I had with Jay last week when I was home. He helped me see that I don't have to be the smartest or the coolest or the hippest to be alright. You just have to do you. Whenever, wherever.
- Oreo pie. Hitting that up soon.
- Valentine's Day. Last Saturday was easily the best Valentine's Day I've ever experienced.
- My new phone. So excited for internets and a supercool camera and a touchscreen.
- Slowly becoming an adult. This realization brought to you by the fact that I have a VIC card.
- Civil Rights Movement. I'm pretty glad that happened. Also, I think I want to concentrate on this for my history minor now that I have a shit-ton of information and background on it.
- Lost's new season. Time travel! Locke dying! Pretty Sawyer!
- Rekindling old-ish friendships. It feels nice. Really nice.
- Learning to knit. Or, you know, at least trying.
Alright... back to Chuck now.
